Tristan's Take:
Rating: 6.5/10
The Asian girl group comedy bring twists, a few laughs, and raunch, with emotion and drama at its candy filled center.
While the film sports a likeable cast, the film never really feels it takes off and fully spreads its metaphorical wings. For one, the characters while interesting on the surface, the characters aren't given the room to show off their full potential and comedic talents, nor really mesh altogether as a group, have a complete backstory, or true development in the film too.
The drama and emotion weighs heavily in the film, giving some depth to lead and "Emily in Paris" favorite, Ashley Park. The drama is a nice surprise and a way to tie the film together, but not enough to truly carry the film.
The movie, all in all, relies heavily on the likeability of its cast, with which it wins, however not entirely, due to an underdeveloped script and underwhelming execution.
